[2:23 PM] Industrialplague: Hey everyone, great to be here. My name is Andre de Almeida and I am the creator of a currently in development board game called Edgeguard. I am an artist and developer by trade with many years of professional entertainment and design experience. I decided to start a game company because there were so many games that I felt could be amazing if the rules just had a more logical decision process to them. That is essentially our core value.1
[2:25 PM] Industrialplague: There are so many games that you have to continually stop and reference confusing rule books and it just completely takes you out of the game. But if you were questioning a rule and could just make the decision yourself, it would be a much better experience. That is what I started with for Edgeguard. I then followed it up by molding the game design with all of my favorite play elements from other games, video games, etc. I like to think Edgeguard is what it would look like if you took games like Warcraft and Final Fantasy and inserted their systems into a board game.
[7:33 PM] Duck: I’m Ulysses ‘Duck’ Duckler, a ttrpg designer and medical student on the side. I was on here about a year ago to talk about my previous project, Cuticorium, and now today I’m back to talk about To Change.
[7:35 PM] Duck: To Change is a setting agnostic system for telling short stories focused on transformation, metal and physical metamorphosis. There are strong elements of both body horror and self empowerment, with a large influence from trans experience.
[7:35 PM] Duck: The gamebook will come with 8 short adventures to start, more if funding provides, and uses a small tarot deck comprised of just the major arcana to facilitate play and action resolution.
[7:42 PM] WynDWys: Nice to meet you all! I’m Devin, but mostly go by Wyn. Thanks again for inviting me here, I’ve loved snooping around the discord! The game I’m developing is Stories of Wonder, though the system itself is simply stories. It’s meant to be a very open and customizable system that allows for very specific actions to be taken, letting roleplay and gameplay blend into one! It’s also designed to be fairly realistic, having weight, size, and background all impact your character interactions a various ways. The two most distinct aspects of the system are: 1 – The combat, which operates off TCG style rounds and roll brackets which scale based off the difference of the totaled roll, and the target rolls, and 2 – The fact it’s meant as a digital system, rather than the normal pen and paper! A lot of the inclusion of real-world physics use a number of calculations which would be way too bulky to draw out. As a result, the system is a bit more complex, but the character sheet makes using it fairly simple!
[7:33 PM] harushu: I am Jason, I created Rituals of the elder gods. I have 2 autistic children and I myself am both bi-polar and hyper vigilant. I only bring this up so you understand the challenges I face when trying to type up something. Especially when I am trying to type fast.
[7:33 PM] harushu: My game is set in a dystopian, cyberpunk setting. However it is a multiple genre game with the ability to seamlessly shift into and out of multiple genre types as you play. GM has full control running any type of genre they want and rules to back it up. This game is estimated at 1-2% story, 8-9% rules and 90% content, again not exact numbers. Although I do have exact numbers, a comparison of what you get from the demo game vs. the full game.
