7:31 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Okay. I’m the owner of Bloat Games, a small independent tabletop game company. I’m the creator, writer, publisher of SURVIVE THIS!! Zombies! SURVIVE THIS!! Dark Places & Demogorgons, SURVIVE THIS!! Vigilante City, The Blackest of Deaths and many more. When I’m not writing or creating games, you can usually find me on my YouTube channel, Eric from
7:31 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Bloat Games, where I ramble at great lengths about my love of RPGs and all things nerdy.
7:32 PM +DammitViktyr: (subbscribe)
7:32 PM +EricfromBloatGames: The game I’m here promoting is SURVIVE THIS!! Fantasy Tabletop RPG 2 Book Kickstarter
7:32 PM +EricfromBloatGames: .
7:32 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Which is fully compatible with SURVIVE THIS!! Zombies!, Dark Places & Demogorgons, and Vigilante City.
7:33 PM +EricfromBloatGames: This Kickstarter is to fund both the Core Rules and Game Master’s Guide for SURVIVE THIS!! Fantasy (STF) Tabletop Roleplaying Game. STF mixes old-school sensibilities with modern game design in a d20 based game system.
7:33 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done
7:33 PM ~Dan: Thanks, EricfromBloatGames! The floor is open to questions!
7:34 PM ~Dan: (Welcome to #randomworlds, kiwi_23!)
7:34 PM ~Dan: (You can set your name with the /nick command; e.g., /nick Dan)
7:34 PM ~Dan: What are the common denominators between the SURVIVE THIS!! games?
7:35 PM +EricfromBloatGames: SURVIVE THIS!! is a game system created by Eric Bloat using the Open Gaming License. Created for SURVIVE THIS!! Zombies!, a zombie apocalypse horror RPG, and then overhauled for SURVIVE THIS!! Zombies! 2nd Edition. SURVIVE THIS!! was then utilized for a 1980s setting in Dark Places & Demogorgons and a street-level superhero setting in Vigilante
7:35 PM +EricfromBloatGames: City. SURVIVE THIS!! Fantasy is the fourth iteration of the game line bringing the rules to a traditional fantasy setting while remaining fully compatible with the previous games in the line.
7:35 PM +EricfromBloatGames: The system and settings all share the same rules. Like:
7:36 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Attributes: Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Dexterity, Constitution, Charisma, & Luck
7:36 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Hit Points, Mending Wounds and Death
7:36 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Savings Throws: Each Character has 6 Saving Throws: COURAGE, CRITICAL, DEATH, MAGIC, MENTAL, & POISON.

7:38 PM +QuestWise: Evening Eric!
7:39 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Questwise aka Jodie is one of our most valued contributors to the SURVIVE THIS!! game line
7:39 PM ~Dan: Oh, wonderful! Glad to have you here, QuestWise!
7:40 PM +QuestWise: Ah, shucks!
7:40 PM ~Dan: What would you say sets this game apart from the other d20-based fantasy RPGs out there?
7:40 PM +EricfromBloatGames: 🙂
7:40 PM +QuestWise: I ama small cog in a great machine
7:40 PM +QuestWise: Hello Dan
7:44 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Also, while we’re promoting . . . QuestWise has an awesome channel on YouTube devoted to RPGs. Definitely worth the subscribe.
7:45 PM ~Dan: Feel free to share the link!
7:46 PM +QuestWise: Eric, for those who might not know
7:46 PM ~Dan: EricfromBloatGames: Did you see my earlier question?
7:46 PM +QuestWise: What are the biggest influences
7:46 PM +EricfromBloatGames: I did now. Sorry!
7:46 PM ~Dan: That’s okay!
7:46 PM +QuestWise: For Survive This!! Fantasy?
7:47 PM +EricfromBloatGames: We handle magic and Psionics and our leveling systems are all all definitely unique to us. I’ll explain . . .
7:49 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Magic comes from magical tattoos which anyone can acquire but if they’re not part of a magical race/class it is very dangerous to do so. When you cast a spell magical glowing runes appear in the air momentarily, and can be used to track you by those with the knowledge to read them . . .
7:51 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Psionics (created by Questwise) are a 5 tiered power system where the more you use it the better you get. Both Magic and Psionics can backfire or be pushed with a risk of catastrophy.
7:52 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Leveling up is XP based but not solely focused on killing or collecting treasure.
7:52 PM +EricfromBloatGames: XP earned five different ways: Session Survival, Encounter XP, Exceptional Roleplaying, Discretionary, and Hero XP.
7:52 PM ~Dan: (Welcome to #randomworlds, kiwi_25!)
7:52 PM ~Dan: (Oh, wb, QuestWise. 🙂 )
7:52 PM +EricfromBloatGames: and the XP numbers or lower. You won’t achieve thousands of XP., more like 5 per session.
7:52 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done
7:53 PM ~Dan: (Howdy, Scott_Uhls!)
7:54 PM +EricfromBloatGames: The biggest influences are definitely Palladium Fantasy, Dungeons and Dragons and Dungeon Crawl Classics with a hint of The Hero’s Journey and the Black Hack thrown in for good measure. done
7:54 PM +Scott_Uhls: Hey Dan. Came in late, sorry. lost track of time
7:54 PM ~Dan: (No worries!)
7:54 PM +DammitViktyr: Very nice.
7:54 PM ~Dan: What classes are available?
7:55 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Class and Race are seperate so I’ll list both together and they go hand in hand:
7:55 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Races
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: :
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Arcwols
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Aspimitte
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Changeling
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Dwarves
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Elves
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Fienakar
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Goblins
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Hatchling
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Humans
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Kobold
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Minatauns
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Norgarm
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Vessamyrrs
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Classes
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Archer
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Assassin
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Barbarian
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: The Beastmaster
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Cindertouched
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Fortune Hunter
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Master of Arms
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Mender
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Mercenary
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Monster Slayer
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Mystic
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Navigator
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Necromancer
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Psion Master
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Psion Warrior
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Ranger
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Street Rat
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Warrior of the Empty Hand
7:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Zealot
7:57 PM +EricfromBloatGames: 16 classes in all and 13 races. We tried to give a nice wide variety to choose from and mix and match. Done
7:58 PM ~Dan: That’s pretty impressive.
7:58 PM ~Dan: Can you describe the non-traditional races?
7:58 PM +EricfromBloatGames: That’s we really wanted to give something for everyone with this game. Definitely . . .
7:58 PM +Scott_Uhls: Does leveling up follow a system of predetermined advances, like “At level 6, you get ___” or do you get to customize how the character levels up? Or does leveling up just increase bonuses?
8:00 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Arcwols are 10 foot tall anthropomorphic Wolf people. They’re Kind and Wise and detest slavery or captivity or any kind.
8:00 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Aspimitte as snake folk. Often misunderstood and they tend to avoid cold climates.
8:01 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Fienakar are devil-kind of a lesser nature.
8:02 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Minatauns – are two foot tall warriors who are often mistaken for Elf-children.
8:03 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Norgarm are large powerful anthropomorphic Bear folk. Large powerful warriors who never practice magic.
8:03 PM +DammitViktyr: Is there a default setting that these races are a part of?
8:04 PM +EricfromBloatGames: And Vessamyrrs are golden skinned people who slightly resemble “Oscar” statues.
8:04 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Done
8:04 PM ~Dan: Do you offer any twists on the more traditional races?
8:04 PM +DammitViktyr: (sorry!)
8:05 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Scott_Uhls Yes exactly. Each class has their own advancement per level. done
8:06 PM +EricfromBloatGames: +DammitViktyr. No but there is an implied setting based on the classes/races included and the fluff material that’s added. but these first two books are not tied to a specific setting. done
8:07 PM ~Dan: (Howdy, PuppycatProductions, DireNinjaMedia!)
8:08 PM +PuppycatProductions: Hi.
8:08 PM +DireNinjaMedia: Hello
8:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Dan, we tried to give each race a fresh coat of paint while not losing the key components of what make s each a fantasy stable. Most are made more flavorable. And we even have some surprises that awaits the backers for the release. done
8:09 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Hello PuppycatProductions and DireNinjaMedia!
8:09 PM ~Dan: What are your Dwarves and Elves like?
8:10 PM ~Dan: (Oh, for those of you who joined us late, topic: (Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ericfrombloatgames/survive-this-fantasy-tabletop-rpg-2-book-kickstarter)https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ericfrombloatgames/survive-this-fantasy-tabletop-rpg-2-book-kickstarter )
8:11 PM +DireNinjaMedia: kickstarter says this is using OGL does that mean d20?
8:11 PM +DireNinjaMedia: (sorry if you answered that already)
8:12 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Elves are a beautiful and graceful people that have spread across the many worlds, developing into a wide variety of clans. Although they have different attitudes and laws, all Elves share kinship and love of nature. All Elves share the same stats as below but may have some regional bonuses.
8:12 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Elves are often forest dwelling beings of incredible majesty. They live in harmony with nature, befriending the goodly creatures of the woodland realm and spending their countless centuries of life weaving songs and enchantments beyond the ability of other races.
8:12 PM +EricfromBloatGames: That is not to say that elves are unskilled in matters of warfare. They are supremely stealthy when traversing the wild places of the world and train for decades in the arts of swordplay and archery. Still, elves hold life to be a sacred thing and are loathe to slay other beings unless they are in the service of evil. But when their wrath is
8:12 PM +EricfromBloatGames: brought against forces of evil, those standing against elvish foe often cower in fear at their magnificence.
8:12 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Because elves are nearly immortal and live far away from the other races of the world, they often seem arrogant or aloof when interacting with other races.
8:12 PM +EricfromBloatGames: They regard humans as short-sighted and foolish and dislike dour and work-obsessed dwarves. Insular to the point of near-xenophobia, elves are as cold and beautiful as the winter dawn.
8:12 PM ~Dan: Very nice!
8:13 PM +EricfromBloatGames: So they’re would be the Elves description and mechanical benefits . . .
8:13 PM ~Dan: (Welcome to #randomworlds, Rick!)
8:13 PM +Rick: Thx Dan
8:13 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Alignment: Elves lean towards Law, but can follow any alignment.
8:13 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Base Move: 13
8:13 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Bonuses: Darkvision 60’, +2 to any Listen or Spot checks, Immunity to Charm and Magical Sleep
8:13 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Languages: Elvish & 1 additional language
8:13 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Lifespan: Starting age 50+. Maximum 500-1000 years
8:13 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Size: 5’ Average, 6 ½’ Maximum
8:13 PM ~Dan: (Rick: Here for the Q&A? 🙂 )
8:13 PM +Rick: Yep!
8:14 PM +EricfromBloatGames: The game does use the d20 OGL. done
8:14 PM ~Dan: (Great! Fire away with any questions!)
8:15 PM +DireNinjaMedia: what makes survive this unique? i know the original was a zombie survival game, but havent read it or played it
8:16 PM +EricfromBloatGames: We handle magic and Psionics and our leveling systems are all all definitely unique to us. I’ll explain . . . Magic comes from magical tattoos which anyone can acquire but if they’re not part of a magical race/class it is very dangerous to do so. When you cast a spell magical glowing runes appear in the air momentarily, and can be used to track
8:16 PM +EricfromBloatGames: you by those with the knowledge to read them . . .
8:17 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Psionics (created by Questwise) are a 5 tiered power system where the more you use it the better you get. Both Magic and Psionics can backfire or be pushed with a risk of catastrophy. Leveling up is XP based but not solely focused on killing or collecting treasure.
8:17 PM +EricfromBloatGames: XP earned five different ways: Session Survival, Encounter XP, Exceptional Roleplaying, Discretionary, and Hero XP. and the XP numbers or lower. You won’t achieve thousands of XP., more like 5 per session.
8:18 PM +EricfromBloatGames: It’s really our set of house rules that I’ve been using and tweaking during my time running and writing games.
8:18 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done
8:19 PM ~Dan: You mentioned that the game doesn’t have a setting, but it sounds like there’s an implied setting. Can you say a bit about that?
8:20 PM +DireNinjaMedia: Im assuming that since its called “survive this” that its more gritty and difficult and/or focused on survival, how does that focus manifest, mechanically?
8:21 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Definitely. What I meant by that was in these two books we’re not writing a full setting, saying like this kingdom is here and they are warring with this kingdom and this necromancer is raising a skeleton army. Etc . . .
8:23 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Instead, we are aloowing the tone in the fluff and the art by Diogo Noguiera and Phil Stone and the classes/races included to give the allusion of a darker, grim fantasy, more street level than high fantasy shine through without spelling everything out for you.
8:24 PM +Rick: I saw Blades in the Dark was listed as an influence, what in particular was inspired in STF by it?
8:24 PM ~Dan: (Diogo is a great guy, btw.)
8:25 PM +QuestWise: Diogo is indeed a great fella
8:27 PM +EricfromBloatGames: As far as SURVIVE THIS!! it can be lethal for sure but it’s really about overcoming incredible odds, it’s about offering difficult situations and ways to overcome those situations. The game is not to kill you but it’s not there to protect you either. So mechanically, the encounters tend to be more difficult than other standard d20 or high fantasy
8:27 PM +EricfromBloatGames: games.
8:28 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Blades in the dark for me was all about the mood and the setting. It’s high stakes risks and foreboding dangers around every corner. We tried to infuse that tone and style into this game.
8:28 PM +EricfromBloatGames: and yea, Diogo is great!
8:28 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done.
8:29 PM +Scott_Uhls: What would you say is the BEST / Biggest Selling point of the game?
8:31 PM +EricfromBloatGames: That’s easy it is the backlog of material already on the market that is fully compatible with the game. SURVIVE THIS!! Fantasy uses the same same game systems as our games SURVIVE THIS!! Zombies!, Dark Places and Demogorgons and Vigilante City. From those 3 game lines, you
8:33 PM +EricfromBloatGames: you’re looking at nearly 20 books of material: Monsters, NPCs, Equipment etc that you can have at your disposal day 1 to flush out and make the SURVIVE THIS!! game exactly how you want it.
8:33 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done.
8:33 PM ~Dan: (Rick: Sent you a PM.)
8:34 PM +QuestWise: The Cryptid Manual would work great.
8:34 PM ~Dan: What makes STF so challenging for PCs?
8:35 PM +QuestWise: Well, gotta run. Game on!
8:36 PM ~Dan: Take care, QuestWise!
8:36 PM ~Dan: Come by any time!
8:37 PM +EricfromBloatGames: The player character power level is scaled back from standard fantasy games. A level 10 dungeons and dragons character would wipe the board with a ST character. Our intent is not to make character that grow into godlike beings, but instead to make characters that grow into awesome characters. By limiting the power creep, we believe that it makes
8:37 PM +EricfromBloatGames: for a more fun and challenging play experience.
8:37 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done
8:38 PM ~Dan: Do you stick with Vancian magic?
8:39 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Yes. with a the twist of Magical Tattoos and runes but based off the existing classic magic basics.
8:40 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done.
8:41 PM +Scott_Uhls: So based on what you are saying, ST characters fit more into the OSR style, or DCC-style (which I realize you already listed) rather than a straight 5e OGL-type game
8:41 PM +DireNinjaMedia: many years ago we created a game with magical tattoos/runes called Rune Bearer, its gone through a lot of revisions over the years, out of curiosity, how does a character get these tattoos and what powers do they give them?
8:44 PM +EricfromBloatGames: I’d say we fit more with OSR style. But we’re huge fans of 5e. And it shows with things like Advantage/Disadvantage, etc.
8:46 PM +EricfromBloatGames: I’ll have to check out Rune Bearer. Our initial inspiration for the Tattoos was from Rifts by Palladium Books. In our game they can get the tattoo from anyone in the game world whose trained to give the tattoo but it’s always done at a cost and if the character is not a magical based race/class it can be very dangerous to get the tattoo.
8:47 PM ~Dan: Can you say a bit about that danger?
8:48 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Getting a tattoo gives the receiver that the ability to cast any sort of spell from a healing spell, to fireball to levitation and back again.
8:49 PM ~Dan: (wb, Rick!)
8:49 PM +Scott_Uhls: Does this cause them to have some kind of loss of essence when they case, or is there some payment for the tattoo itself?
8:50 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Non-spellcasters may acquire rune-tattoos at a much greater risk. They can only be 1st level spells. They must first learn the spell as a spellcaster does. They must have Arcana with at least 5 ranks, require at least a 13 INT, and they must save against Death at Double Disadvantage (roll 3 dice and take the worst)!! If they fail, they must roll on
8:50 PM +EricfromBloatGames: the Failed Knowledge Table twice as much as the Mystic. Afterward, they can use 1st level spells equal to their INT modifier per day. Higher spells can be learned, but that knowledge is sealed in another tome.
8:50 PM +EricfromBloatGames: When a spellcaster has a rune-tattoo completed for a spell that is not learned by leveling, they are temporarily reduced to 0 Hit Points and must make a save against Death at Disadvantage. If they fail the Death save, they must roll on the Failed Knowledge Table once for each level of the spell and pay the price for being greedy and overstepping
8:50 PM +EricfromBloatGames: their bounds. Pass or fail, and the spellcaster will remain asleep for 2d6 hours afterward and awaken at full health with the rune-tattoo on their body.
8:51 PM +EricfromBloatGames: So the risk is up to and including death.
8:51 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done
8:52 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Additional Tattoos can be bought at any time as long as the buyer can find the right rune-tattoo artist and has the money to pay their fee! The average rune-tattoo costs 1000 gp per spell level.
8:52 PM +EricfromBloatGames: this does not include tattoos gained by magic users leveling up.
8:52 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done
8:52 PM ~Dan: Do tattoos have to be touched to activate?
8:53 PM +Chris_Dragon: Does this have an implied setting (Like D&D) or a detailed one (Like Palladium Fantasy) attached?
8:53 PM ~Dan: (Welcome to #randomworlds, btw, Chris_Dragon!)
8:55 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Chris – it has an implied setting. Later books will offer detailed settings like palladium for those of us who enjoy such things but the implied setting in these 2 books is much closer to a D&D setting.
8:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Dan – They do not have to be touched. The caster simply says the spell they want to cast, possibly waves their hands, speaks a magic word, whatever and the spell fires.
8:56 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done.
8:57 PM ~Dan: So if someone is walking around looking like the Illustrated Man, do people freak out at what is likely a powerful magician?
8:59 PM +Chris_Dragon: As an addendum to Dan’s question: Is body art a thing, or is it controlled as a ‘spell casters’ only thing?
8:59 PM +EricfromBloatGames: yes! But there are also imposters who put on fake magic tattoos to pretend to be powerful. Most really powerful being tend to try to hide or cancel the markings under cloaks.
9:00 PM +EricfromBloatGames: The game does acknowledge both magic and non-magic tattoos.
9:00 PM ~Dan: Faking magical prowess sounds like a dangerous game.
9:01 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Sometimes characters roll 3s for intelligence. lol
9:01 PM +Chris_Dragon: Or have ‘Yakuza’ style art on their bodies to hide their power. Cool beans. Kinda sad that I’ll miss out on this KS, but I’ll slip a mickey when they get onto Drivethru.
9:01 PM ~Dan: (A powerful magician!: (Link: https://www.martinralya.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/pdbb.jpg)https://www.martinralya.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/pdbb.jpg)
9:02 PM +EricfromBloatGames: defintely!
9:02 PM ~Dan: (Ironically, people of the race pictured can never, ever learn magic. 😀 )
9:02 PM +EricfromBloatGames: haha
9:03 PM ~Dan: You mentioned two books earlier. Are they a GM and a player book?)
9:03 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Core Rules (player hb) and Game Master’s Guide (DMG and Monster Manual)
9:04 PM +EricfromBloatGames: both will be 200+ pages .
9:04 PM ~Dan: Ah, I see. Speaking of the Monster Manual, how large is the bestiary?
9:05 PM +EricfromBloatGames: 150+ Monster Bestiary
9:05 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Plus Templates: Dire, Giant, Were-Beast, Vampire and Zombie to add to existing monsters and regular animals too.
9:05 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done
9:06 PM ~Dan: Pretty impressive!
9:06 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Thank you! We try to give as many options as we can.
9:06 PM ~Dan: Are there any monsters unique to the game?
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Here’s just one of the unique monsters to give you an idea of how monsters are stated:
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Devil, Jersies-Yon (Outsider Aberration)
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: A rare devil that is encountered in deep woodlands. It looks like a terrible mix of a wild goat, a bat, a bear and a deformed human or elven child. It leaps from its hoven feet into the air before attacking. It carries a magic curse.
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Armor Class: 16
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Hit Dice: 4 + 3 HP
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Move: 9/ 18 Flying
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Actions: 1
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Attack Damage: Claws (d6**), Bite (d6**), Horns (d6), Tail (d4-1)
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Special: Tail Trip (+2 on Trip attempts), Toughness +1, Toughness: Cold & Ice +3, Weakness Silver, Weakness Light damage, *Roar
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Bonuses: +5 to Melee attacks, +2 Melee damage, +8 to Spot, +2 to Initiative, +4 to Stealth, +6 to Jump, +5 to Track
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Alignment: Evil
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Morale: 6
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Terror: 14
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Treasure Type: K, C (3+)
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: HDE: 3
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: *Roar: Once before combat, the Jersey Devil can roar to scare his prey. Each character within 500’ must make a Courage save or become scarred. They are at -4 to Courage save stat, -1 to AC and -1 to attacks for d4 minutes.
9:08 PM +EricfromBloatGames: **Magic Illness: When successfully hit by a Claw or Bite, the target must make a Death or Magic save or become Sickened for d4 rounds. At the end of the Sickened period, they must re-roll the save or be Sickened again. If a Character fails three of these saves in a row, they lose 1 CON permanently.
9:09 PM +DireNinjaMedia: gotta go, see ya next time, good luck with STF!
9:09 PM ~Dan: Bye, DireNinjaMedia!
9:09 PM ~Dan: Come by any time!
9:09 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Don’t get me wrong all of your favorite fantasy classics are there. But we’ve added a nice mix of unique monsters
9:09 PM +EricfromBloatGames: done
9:09 PM +DireNinjaMedia: also you should consider renaming it to Survive This!! Fantasy Utopia, for the acronym
9:09 PM ~Dan: EricfromBloatGames: Heh. The Jersey Devil. 🙂
9:10 PM +EricfromBloatGames: By Ninja, thanks for dropping bye
9:10 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Exactly
9:10 PM ~Dan: DireNinjaMedia: Ha!
9:13 PM ~Dan: Hey, danhunsaker, you still there?
9:13 PM +Scott_Uhls: What is your favorite monster/special ability
9:14 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Favorite monster is:
9:14 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Goatman (Humanoid Aberration)
9:14 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Encountering a Goatman in the wilds is very rare, and those that do see one rarely are heard from again. Half man, half demonic-looking goat beast, a Goatman lives isolated in the forgotten corners of the world. They prefer to live in caves or under cliffs or abandoned bridges. Every region seems to have a legend of a Goatman-type creature. Roll on
9:14 PM +EricfromBloatGames: the chart below, or select one of the origins to create a specialized Goatman.
9:15 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Our play on the Popelick Monster
9:15 PM +Scott_Uhls: Nice.
9:16 PM ~Dan: Do you have a lot of these cryptids and local legends in the bestiary?
9:16 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Cloud Minds
9:16 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Some beings have weak wills and even weaker minds. A Psion who utilizes this ability can confuse, confound, and utterly debilitate their opponents.
9:16 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Primary Power Bonus – You may target 1 additional target with these abilities.
9:16 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Level 1 – By providing a minor mental distraction, the Psion can cause either a -2 to their enemy’s attack rolls or a -2 penalty to their AC for 2 rounds. Mental save negates.
9:16 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Level 2 – A chosen enemy within 100′ must miss their next attack action. Mental save negates.
9:16 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Level 3 – Reaching out to the minds around them, the Psion can cause up to 2 targets to suffer either a -3 to their attack rolls or a -3 to their AC for 2 rounds. Mental save negates.
9:17 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Level 4 – A chosen enemy confuses friend for foe, as their mind begins to play tricks on them. Roll percentile dice for the villain: if the result is 50% or less, they attack their nearest ally. Mental save negates.
9:17 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Level 5 – The master Psion can cause such havoc to the mind as to choose a particular enemy and on the next round of combat force them to go last in Initiative order next round and be at Disadvantage for this round and the next. Mental save negates.
9:17 PM +EricfromBloatGames: MAX PUSH – You may make an action from Levels 1-5, but it may target an additional target.
9:17 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Cloud Minds is my favorite special ability. I just dig it.
9:17 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Dan- we have 5 or 6. Just a few peppered through for fans of cryptids
9:17 PM * ~Dan nods
9:18 PM ~Dan: Do you have dinosaurs?
9:19 PM +Scott_Uhls: Your kickstarter says November for fulfillment… Do you forsee that becoming January or possibly October? (this is a round about way to ask, is it already finished and therefore just a matter of printing/shipping details)
9:20 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Not traditional dinosaurs but I think fans of dinosaurs will like some secrets we have hidden in the bestiary, but I can say no more . . . .
9:20 PM ~Dan: Heh. Fair enough.
9:20 PM ~Dan: Okay, since danhunsaker isn’t here, I’ll ask his favorite question for him…
9:21 PM ~Dan: What’s your LEAST favorite aspect of SURVIVE THIS!! Fantasy?
9:22 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Both books are fully written and playtested. I foresee us shipping sooner than December (much sooner, infact) but I wanted to give extra time with the way things are going in the world currently. I’ll say, this is my 11th Kickstarter and so far (knock on wood) I’ve never been late.
9:22 PM +EricfromBloatGames: I’m shooting for September.
9:23 PM +EricfromBloatGames: I’m not a huge fan of how large our magic section. lol I never play magic users but I know people love them. So if I had to pick, there’d be that.
9:24 PM ~Dan: A good answer. 🙂
9:24 PM ~Dan: In the time remaining, is there anything we haven’t covered that you’d like to bring up?
9:25 PM +EricfromBloatGames: For those interested in more about the Game Master’s Guide, there’s this:

9:26 PM +EricfromBloatGames: I think that covers everything.
9:27 PM ~Dan: Random question: What are your dragons like?
9:28 PM +EricfromBloatGames: Dragons are powerful and ancient and not something you want to go head to head with until you are high level for sure!
9:28 PM +EricfromBloatGames: We cover most of the standard dragons/colors and abilities but don’t stray too far off the beaten path.
9:29 PM * ~Dan nods
