<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> My name is Egg Embry, I’m a columnist for EN World, the Open Gaming Network, the Tessera Guild, and Knights of the Dinner Table. I just funded my first Kickstarter, POWERED by the DREAMR, a Powered by the Apocalypse zine.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> I’m here to talk share the other zine I’m working on (as a co-creator), Love’s Labour’s Liberated for D&D 5e.

<~Dan> (Welcome to #randomworlds, Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated!)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I am Sean Hillman and while I currently live in Atlanta GA, I began life in Maryland. I write for EN World and I run my small press, known as Reign Dragon Press from here. I launched my first Kickstarter this Feburary for #ZineQuest, called D.I.R.G.E.zine
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Hi, Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated) I’m doing this zine with John McGuire and Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberatered
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> (Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reigndragon/dirgezine?ref=f1w77t)https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reigndragon/dirgezine?ref=f1w77t
<~Dan> (Welcome to #randomworlds, Deharme!)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I am here to talk about D.I.R.G.E.zine
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> John McGuire’s a novelist and columnist at the Tessera Guild. Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated, you want to do your own intro? 🙂
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> and how important I think it is to the rpg sphere as a whole
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I also want to thank Egg for suggesting I come on and Dan for having me!
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> And done 🙂
<~Dan> Want to introduce yourself, Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated? 🙂
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Hello All. My is Leland Beauchamp. I am working on Love’s Labour’s Liberated with Egg and John. I am a long time RPG lover, from ages past. I also live in Georgia, and used to Intern at White Wolf when they were here in the state.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Love’s Labour’s Liberated – A 5e RPG Zine is a chance for John, Leland, and I to work on something together. We’ve been roleplaying together since the 80s/90s. We wanted to create a zine that gives back some of the love we’ve developed for D&D.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> In this case, we’re talking bringing romantic notions of Cavaliers, Enchanters, magic items, and adventures to the table.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> And done.
<~Dan> Thanks, guys! The floor is open to questions!
<~Dan> Can you tell us a bit about the contents of Love’s Labour’s Liberated?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> One other note, because Sean_DIRGEzine and I are columnists on EN World, we thought it’d be fun to do this together. We’ve both pushed and supported each other’s projects. We all live in Atlanta so it’s nice to get to hang out. 🙂
<~Dan> Cool. 🙂
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Dan, Love’s Labour’s Liberated is a source zine for D&D 5e. It brings romantic notions to the gaming table. It’s about the roleplaying moments and developing content that supports that. It was born, in part, from my love of roleplaying since I can’t hit the broad side of barn with my dice rolls.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> We wanted something that ramped up the RP options. A Cavalier that is less about horses and more about Chivalry (the romanticized notion of it). An Enchanter with more behind the scenes options than out-and-out taking over your character’s agency. Adventures that move the characters for reasons other than gold.
<~Dan> What can the Cavalier do?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> To bring this all together, we focused on February (Valentine’s) and wrapped it in poetry provided by Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> That’s the broad strokes. Leland and I are more than happy to deep dive them. DONE.
<~Dan> (Did you see my question? 🙂 )
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Cavaliers in this setting will have powers and options based around fulfilling an oath and adhering to their beliefs/alignment. The RP-provides-Advantage mechanics are ratch-ed up so the more in-character the player is, the more they follow tenets over grabbing XP/gold, the more options they gain.
<~Dan> That’s an interesting approach.
<~Dan> Whoops! Lost Egg. 😦
<~Dan> (wb, Egg!)
<~Dan> All you missed was me commenting on how that’s an interesting approach.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Well… hmm… did my answer to your Cavalier question come through?)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> It is
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Ah, thank you.)
<~Dan> Can you give some examples of Cavalier powers?
<~Dan> (Welcome to #randomworlds, Guest64!)
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Leland, John, and I really embrace the RP aspects of D&D. For the Cavalier, the basic power is the Oath. At first, they’re very specific. “I pledge to [protect] X character.” After taking that pledge, as long as your actions are in service to that character’s wellbeing (up to 3 times per Short Rest), you gain Advantage.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (I should say, playtesting and balancing is NOT complete. There’s a possibility we’ll morph that.)
* ~Dan nods
<~Dan> Do Cavaliers have any outright magical abilities?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Another one that needs some refinement is we’re looking at allowing the Cavalier’s Saves to be “conferred” to their charge (to give them a better chance of making their Save).
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Cavaliers are not innately magical, no. We’re focusing our magic options on the Enchanter.
<~Dan> What’s the story with the Enchanter?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Welcome back, Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated)
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated, do you want to share some thoughts on the Enchanter? 🙂
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> A major aspect of the Enchanter is to make a caster who does not rely just on offensive magic. We do not want to make them defenseless by any means, but we want them to rely more on the old school enchantments and illusions, and the like.
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> The concept is more akin to the wizards of lore who worked behind the scenes, Merlin making choices that would affect the world around them, and not just the immediate world.
<~Dan> Did you create a new spell list for them?
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> In a campaign past I played a wizard named Aurora. I based her very much on this. She would conserve her magic for when it was needed (much to the chagrin of the warriors in the group). Her magic, when used though helped out in many ways, and gained us great influence, she just didn’t want to get dirty.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Everyone has that specific character that is something of their signature character. At the risk of committing the sin of discussing a character, Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated has one that is worth discussing, Aurora. (Leland’s ahead of me on this.)
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> We are working on a spellist for them, yes. It is still being formed at this time, since we are looking to keep some of the items and other aspects tied in together, where we can, and we need to make sure to work out any kinks.
<~Dan> You mentioned new magic items, I believe?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated is almost underselling Aurora. Literally, why cast Knock when you’ve got a Barbarian that can batter down a door… in an hour. Aurora’s almost disinterested attitude was the RP. It influenced party dynamics and decisions. It raised the possibility of the power behind the throne. 🙂
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> To best illustrate our image of the Enchanter though, Other than the common spells, like Charm Person, the old school Geas and those types of spells best define them. Again going back to Aurora, she would use Geas all the time to make deals with people. It gave her control of these situations. A deal with the devil, maybe, but often the best course of action
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> That is an interesting approach
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Magic Items. We’re creating love themed magic items. We’re also allowing backers to contribute a love themed magic item. Now, keeping it clean, these are options that will have the standard array of powers, but tied to love-related backstories and requiring some RP for Attunement (often related to the love backstory).
<~Dan> (And brb — please continue!)
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> One of the magic items is the Eye of Venus. It requires attunement between the wearer and their love (or someone they have bounded with, we don’t want to force anything awkward). If the “love” is harmed, the wearer goes into a berserker rage.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> The Heart of Vecna [NOT the name we’re going to use… but we’re you’re around the gaming table, the dumbest joke is the best] is the heart of a lich with some fantastic powers. The big deal is that to get to use it, you need to Attune to it and that requires its own adventure in which you learn the lich’s backstory.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> We have more magic items (and expect more from backers). That gives an example.
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Our group is very based in the RP of the game. Mind you we do not overlook the game mechanics themselves, but playing just a typical fighter, a typical cleric, a typical etc, gets to be the same thing time and time again. We like introducing concepts that help to sidestep that rut.
<~Dan> What else can you tell us about the contents of LLL? Is there any part we haven’t covered?
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> As for the Love aspect, we do realize that people are different, and these things may be awkard for some players, and nothing to others. Because of this a lot of our emphasis on Love is more from a perspective of the concept outside the players, but introduced in a way that they could make it more personal if they care to.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated is right, I can’t get into min-maxing characters because you can’t min-max three Nat 1s in a row. So, I’m eager to find other ways to shine.
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> We definitely are not introducing something that will make any players uncomfortable.
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> After this comes our Adventure hooks. Again, sticking with the theme, we are providing a few adventure hooks that will utilize the different aspects we are introducing in the product.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated is correct, we spend time thinking on not only the X Card (an option to keep the game out of uncomfortable territory) but most of our stories don’t put the love/relationship on the PCs. Typically the hook is NPCs in-love (or NOT) and what comes of it. The PCs can take those roles, but only if they want to be involved as such.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> The magic items lead to adventures through their backstories, their backstories are grounded in tales of love.
* ~Dan nods
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Are there any new backgrounds?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Much like the Cavalier already exists in 5e as a Fighter Archetype, we’ll have a few “new” Backgrounds that will build from similar sources as official Backgrounds, but have their own flavor. 🙂
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> This is also where our poem idea came in. Because I couldn’t leave things as is, and had to find something more difficult to add to my plate, we decided we would create a poem to bind all the ideas together. The plan is for it to introduce the different sections, but brought together it is a Master Adventure hook.Hoping this works as well as it does in my head
<~Dan> What appealed to you about the zine format?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated is being modest about the poetry. This is what Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated was meant to put together. It’ll be perfect for this product and your gaming table!
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> For me it came down to, it was about time to put something out there. I was introduced to RPG when I was around 5. Played all sorts of games and systems, and forgotten a good deal of them, I am sure. It was light for a while there, but past few years we got in to it a bit heavy again.
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Egg and I finally made that pilgimage to Gen Con a few years ago, and have gone ever since. Once the whole February Zine came up…..it just seemed the right time, and the right way to start. Something as a nod back, and something to push forward with.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Zine. So, and I think I speak in part for Sean_DIRGEzine with this, when Kickstarter/Luke Crane announced the “revival” of the zine, it just clicked! This is the perfect format for first time creators. We can use original art, stock art, outta-nowhere-ideas, non-commerical concepts, poetry, love and war, tweaking the rules to our liking, and it’d work!
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> In a zine!
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Agreed. It was a great opportunity
<~Dan> How is “zine” defined in this context?
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> In some ways it feels as if
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Zine is being re-defined
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> For those that don’t know, I’m doing the art for Love’s Labour’s Liberated along with selected pieces from Rick Hershey’s stock art. Sean_DIRGEzine is going MUCH nicer on the art end!
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> but I think one part fan zine and one part mini-rpg
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Although I buck the trend a bit on that
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> For me, for Love’s Labour’s Liberated, “zine” is almost a chance to do a source book as articles like a magazine/fan zine, while also keeping the look very DIY. It’ll be all HEART in this product! [See what I did there?] 😉
<~Dan> Heh. 🙂
<~Dan> Mind if we turn to DIRGEzine for a bit?
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Happy to
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Also, for a first time project, it is better to see if people like your concept before trying to do something bigger, though I am sure we all have the grandeous ideas in mind too.
<~Dan> Sean_DIRGEzine: What are the contents of your zine?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Dan, feel free to ask Sean_DIRGEzine questions. He’s good people. 😉 )
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I was a big fan of old school Dragon, which was more system agnostic in the early days. I enjoyed the articles and the art (and the advertisements).
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated speaks the truth on that, doing a zine lets us get our feet underneath us before launching into 400-page hardcovers. 😉
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> So combine with focusing on content created by folks from underrepresented groups in the rpg sphere
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> So we have artwork and lots of it. We have character pieces, sometimes linked with the artwork. We have several articles on being in role playing games and the players
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> We also have… a small dungeon in the works, though that was a later addition
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> We do have some prose as well and a character diary
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Erica Frank has contributed some great things about Goblins, a story and some Goblin social rules
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Dawn Gilreath is doing a mermaid with tentacles
<~Dan> That name sounds familiar…
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> that could likely make use of the LLL rules!
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> The nice thing is that we have people who have been playing for decades and some who are relatively new
<~Dan> So all the contents are system-agnostic?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Ha @ Sean_DIRGEzine . Yeah, we could use that mermaid with our Mermaid’s Tears magic item! Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated , let’s work in some tentacles!… uh… hmmm….)
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (hm. Tentacles……do you think those would work in an RPG world?)
<~Dan> (Mermaids in Grimmgard, a game I just reviewed, have tentacles.)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Some of them are influenced by D&D 5E. Several of the character pieces are characters in a D&D campaign
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> And many of the creators play a lot of 5E
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> DIRGEzine is definitely meant to be informative and inspirational
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> a more artistic Zine
* ~Dan nods
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (That’s it! That’s perfect! The Tentacle Mermaid is now named Dan…nie! 😛 Seriously, Dan, send me a link to that review. 🙂 )
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Sean_DIRGEzine , since your project turns on contributions from some amazing creators, who are the big creators? What have they worked on in the past?
<~Dan> ( (Link: https://gmshoe.wordpress.com/2019/02/24/review-grimmgard/)https://gmshoe.wordpress.com/2019/02/24/review-grimmgard/ )
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Thank you!)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Well Amanda Makepeace and Rachel Quinlan are well known artists who do a lot of fantasy and sf art
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> both are well known in the convention circuit and Amanda has done some rpg covers
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Paige Leitman is big in Adventure League as an author and convention organizer
<~Dan> How did you find out about them?
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Amanda and I are both JordanCon alums
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I work there as the Science Fiction track director
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Amanda is one of our artists
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> I am going to play a little favoritism here. I have known Amanda Makepeace for over half of my life, and her work is beautiful. I have had the luxory of seeing her art grow, and it is well worth a look if you have not seen it.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> I’m going to shoehorn this in here – Amanda Makepeace, among other things, co-founded the Tessera Guild where John McGuire and I write. 🙂
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Rachel I saw in a review on the Tesserra Guild and she is friends with Amanda
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> so she contacted me
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Paige I have written some AL convention content for and we have a tone of mutual friends
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Dawn and I have been friends for a few yeas
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I had a lot of people contact me out of the blue
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Christos lives in Australia and was keen on being a part of DIRGEzine
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Oh Nadia Heller is working with me on my licensed Magic World setting
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> or setting licensed for use with Magic World (Chaosium rpg)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> (have to use the proper legalese)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> and my friend Hashim, who is not noted on the DIRGEzine page is an artist and good friend
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Andrea Fornero is also a JordanCon alum
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> and Erica contacted me as well. I am happy to have them all on board
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Sean_DIRGEzine, excellent lineup! Now, not to pull you off of the D.I.R.G.E.zine thread, but what is this about Chaosium’s Magic World?
<~Dan> Very cool. 🙂
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> lol As some may know, Magic World is based on the old Stormbringer / Elric system. It was not as popular as some of the others and Chaosium is allowing people to license it
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> so I jumped on the chance
<~Dan> Oh? What are you doing with it?
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Ashes of Blade & Bone will be a multi-cultural post apocalyptic world where sorcery and alchemy are vying for domiance
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Ben Monroe did a great job with the setting for Magic World, so we are doing something completely different
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> No elves or dwarves
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> very little Tolkien
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Nadia is developing a color based visual magical languagae
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> We are going to do one setting book (because, the license works that way) and that will have setting, spells, and beasts
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I am hoping DIRGEzine will help put us on the map
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> at least a little
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> and then we do our 400-page hardback lol
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> But I also have some ambitions for Atlanta as an rpg Mecca
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> there is a ton of talent and content creators here
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Ha) So, you’re leading with D.I.R.G.E.zine. Will anything in the zine relate back to Magic World?
<~Dan> (Howdy, Silverlion!)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> My editing style and some of the art style
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Dawn is working on some of the art for AB&B
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> But I specifically did not want to do any “content” for DIRGEzine as I wanted to focus on other creators
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> That’s awesome, Sean_DIRGEzine!!!! Bringing Atlanta back to the heights of the White Wolf era when they were based out of Stone Mountain, Ga (the next town over from where Leland, John, Amanda, and I grew up)? Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated, can you share your White Wolf connection?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Howdy, Silverlion.)
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> So back in High School (let’s not put a specific date on that, shall we?) I signed up for a work study/internship class. At that point I realized White Wolf was local to me, and reached out. Went in and they took me right away.
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> very nice
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Quite the experience for a 17 year old. Got to see every aspect of the company, and it was fun.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> (Ha @ Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated)
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> I was able to do some playtesting on a few games, though I think the only one I was credited in was the Jyhad card game. But my gaming group did have the opportunity to playtest Street Fighter as well, and submit some of our thoughts on it.
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> I think it brought the industry into a new light for me, and expanded the concepts of what was out there. It also helped to make the people behind the scenes more real to me. At that point you are still somwhat star struck when you meet them.
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Oh I bet
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> On a sidenote, going to cons with Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated lets you talk to some of the White Wolf/Onyx Path crew that, otherwise, I don’t have an easy way to approach as anything other than a fan. 🙂
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Lol. It also introduced me to a side of Conventions I had not experienced yet, either.
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> It is nice to see some of them are still out there, and that some of them are even still working locally. I was so happy to see that Onyx Path has a strong presence.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Amen! 🙂
<~Dan> Do any of you see these zines as the start of something larger, like an eventual full-sized RPG?
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I would like to see DIRGEzine become yearly and then quarterly
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> or be part of a quarterly magazine
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> and act as a portfolio for new voices
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Whether in this specific format, or using it to move on to something else, I think I definitely see LLL as a way to either continue or move forward from there.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> For my zine POWERED by the DREAMR (which Dan interviewed me about here – (Link: https://gmshoe.wordpress.com/2019/02/15/qa-egg-embry-powered-by-the-dreamr/)https://gmshoe.wordpress.com/2019/02/15/qa-egg-embry-powered-by-the-dreamr/ ), I see that as the foundation that will lead to more Powered by the Apocalypse zines.
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> One of our strenghts is also a weakness. Egg, John, and I have known each other FOREVER. When we go to Cons, the whole ride there and back is conversation. If we printed all the games those drives have created, we’d be millionaires! This gives us the chance to finally iron out some of those conversations and make something sold from them.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> For Love’s Labour’s Liberated, I see that as a love letter to the game that’s brought me the most gaming joy, D&D! I want to make this work and then look at doing another about a different aspect of D&D (Taxes, maybe? No? Hmm…)
<~Dan> (Howdy, FreeGamer!)
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> D&D: A Tale of Bloody Revenge
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Sean_DIRGEzine, I think that’s the name of 10% of all D&D adventures with the other 90% being named, “For [HEART] of Gold!!!”
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Sean_DIRGEzine and I have talked about doing a zine swap so we have more products to share and trade at cons.
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Yes. I think that the Zines existing beyond the Kickstarter is important
<~Dan> Is Zine Quest a contest of some sort?
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> It was a showcase
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> or is a showcase
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> If it is, A Mothership WON!!!! 😛
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> to encourage the creation of old style fan zines
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> it sure did
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> In a way, it’s a revival of the RPG zine. I’ve counted 85 RPG zines on Kickstarter since February 1st. That’s HUGE! It’s certainly brought the zine back into the conversation.
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> yes it has
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> I am curious how Kickstarter feels about it success
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> I think it’s also opened the floodgates on small, original games. So many original systems and options for games that are niche, yet have the potential to influence all RPGs. It’s a great idea on Luke (Burning Wheel, Head of Games @ Kickstarter) Crane’s part.
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Sean_DIRGEzine, I gotta believe that they’re happy. Lots of new creators and new backers. It’s been a good expansion, I feel.
<~Dan> In the time remaining, do any of you have anything we haven’t covered that you’d like to bring up?
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> First, thank you for having us on here, Dan! It’s great to be here and I appreciate you doing this!
<~Dan> Absolutely! 🙂
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> For Love’s Labour’s Liberated, we end this Saturday and are 79% of our goal! We’re hoping to bring this into the station and make it a success! 😀
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Only that DIRGEzine is a labour of love (see what I did there) and the passion of its creators has amazed me. The people supporting us are very enthusiastic
<+Leland_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Yes, it has been a pleasure. Glad I was able to join, and thank you so much for having us.
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> We are at 82% and the Kickstarter ends on Sunday, the 3rd
<~Dan> Best of luck to both zines!
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> And a lot of thanks to Dan for having me on and Egg and Leland for sharing the time
<+Sean_DIRGEzine> Thank you!
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> To help with that on Love’s Labour’s Liberated, we’re offering the chance to declare your love in the zine, create a magic item, get original poetry from Leland, and more.
<~Dan> Before we wrap up, usual reminder: If you’ve enjoyed this Q&A and would like to treat me to a coffee, you can do so at (Link: https://ko-fi.com/gmshoe)https://ko-fi.com/gmshoe 🙂
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> So the zines exist beyond their initial Kickstarter, I’ve made mine (POWERED by the DREAMR) available through the Love’s Labour’s Liberated campaign (in case anyone missed it and wants to try my Powered by the Apocalypse exploration of dreams and nightmares).
<~Dan> Now, if you’ll give me just a minute, I’ll get the log posted and link you!
<+Egg_Loves_Labours_Liberated> Thank you, Dan! It’s a pleasure! 😀
