<+jeremyTangman> My name is Jeremy Tangman and I created a tabletop Steampunk rpg caled Avenadia.
<+jeremyTangman> Its a Steampunk rpg in which the world has fought back against its inhabitants in way of contamination. everything was contaminated most died and others mutated to survive.
<+jeremyTangman> So the survivors are left to creat a new society and caste system.
<~Dan> Thanks, jeremyTangman! The floor is open to questions!
<~Dan> So let’s see…
<~Dan> How much of the population is left?
<+jeremyTangman> well about 8 million world wide, but you now have regular animals and other creatures that have mutated as well
<~Dan> So is it fair to say that this is a post-apocalyptic game?
<+jeremyTangman> Remember, everybody changed, the closest to human is the Borons and they are typically magic users
<+jeremyTangman> yes sir, in the sense the planet got tired of the war and waged war with the inhanitants
<+jeremyTangman> is there a voice option on here
<~Dan> There is not, sorry.
<+jeremyTangman> ok. So one of the things that makes this system different is that there are no classes
<+jeremyTangman> its societal positions
<+jeremyTangman> it is also a true d20 set, meaning you use a d20 to roll everything
<~Dan> You mentioned magic… How does that show up in the setting?
<+jeremyTangman> everything is done through contamination, you use your contamination points to cast spells.
<~Dan> So magic doesn’t show up until the contamination?
<+jeremyTangman> yes sir
<~Dan> Was the tech level steampunk before the contamination?
<+jeremyTangman> one sec i will give you an exampkle, all abilities and powers show up after contamination and the higher the contamination points the stronger the mutation, but if it goes to high the character is unplayable, unless you can find a way to get rid of some of the contamination. i did have a playtester that was a muti with the ability to suck up contamination and
<+jeremyTangman> use it as a weapon by expelling it in like a water hose blast
<+jeremyTangman> yes and no, there was a higher tech, but a lot was ruined by the contamination. tho
<+jeremyTangman> think roger rabit and the dip
<+jeremyTangman> lots destroyed and now the way they fuel their world is by collecting trash an d scraps and burning it to create energy
<+jeremyTangman> there are cyborgs in this world, they are typically mercinaries or police
<+jeremyTangman> life is very Boojk Of Eli Likje
* ~Dan nods
<~Dan> What races are available to play?
<+jeremyTangman> in a few i will upload art and a character sheet
<+jeremyTangman> Borons, Muties, Punkers, cyborg,
<~Dan> Howdy, Antiochcow!
<+jeremyTangman> those are the core and you can mix up stuff from the creature or monsters as well
<~Dan> Can you describe the races a bit?
<+jeremyTangman> Borons There is a joke among the other sects that the title Boron actually is a combination of the words boring and moron. The Borons themselves say that they took the name from the element that saved their lives. This sect, like the Punkers, appears to have kept a normal human form. They were the upper class before the Great War and have the gall to still ca
<+jeremyTangman> gall to still call themselves the ruling class. In fact it is simply their wealth that protected them during the war and keeps them in positions of power now.
<+jeremyTangman> The Cyborg sect holds a mix of Muties and Punkers that have altered their bodies with mechanical parts. Some of these are by choice and some are from necessity
<+jeremyTangman> Faelings Faelings Faelings are actually mutated versions of the magical creatures that once hid in Avenadia; leprechauns, sprites, gnomes, and other magical races that have mutated both because of interbreeding as well as the contamination from the Great War
<+jeremyTangman> Muties After the Great War many things changed in Avenadia. One of the most prominent changes was the presence of the Muties, or mutated beings. Displaying a variety of mutations and new abilities, Muties were looked down on by most of the upper class.
<+jeremyTangman> Punkers Punkers Punkers are non mutated humans. Typically they favor positions as Gadgeteers. Punkers can be of any age but because of their radical beliefs and lifestyle they are typically young adults or middle aged.
<+jeremyTangman> does this chst allow pictures uploaded or larger images
<~Dan> I think there’s some way to do that, or you can just link to the pics if they’re posted somewhere.
<+jeremyTangman> the combat system was fun to figure out. basically all of your abilities or resistance are in drop down categories and points are place in catagories in amounts of 5 and the drop down and add then individually almost like white wolf
<+jeremyTangman> so the examplke for combat would be for the aggressor to roll versus over all defense and depending on how much higher the roll is that is the points that carry over,
<+jeremyTangman> for instqnce if you roll a 20 naqnd the targets defense is 10, you deal ten damge
* ~Dan nods
<+jeremyTangman> `of course the varients nare physical and mental catqgories, because if you hit a cyborge with a spell he is les resistant in that catagory
<+jeremyTangman> he will recieve more damage
<+jeremyTangman> if i am scrambling everywhere, i am sorry. my health has not been the best and i am under preparede
<~Dan> No worries, buddy.
<+jeremyTangman> i tooks some meds so i am a lil goofy but its getting better
<+jeremyTangman> i was hoping to show you, dan do you have a pdf
<+jeremyTangman> i meant did i send you one
<~Dan> I don’t think so.
<+jeremyTangman> than you can see more of what i mean
<~Dan> I’ll PM you.
<+jeremyTangman> so each persons positions determins wealth and where they are on the caste system. so if your a muti you would be an outsider and hold a lower position. you might have to make your way by doing odd jobs or bounty hunting
<+jeremyTangman> is it just you and i dan?
<~Dan> I think so. We may have some lurkers.
<+jeremyTangman> well, i can do this again or you and i can talk privately as we go over the game file
<~Dan> (Howdy, Le_Squide!)
<&Le_Squide> (Hey Dan!)
<~Dan> We can keep going here. I’ll be posting the log for others to read.
<~Dan> What sorts of mutations are available?
<+jeremyTangman> mutations depend on how contaminated you are, it can be slight to totally disfigured,
<+jeremyTangman> the beautiful it that it is totally customizable
<~Dan> How so?
<+jeremyTangman> you start out as one of the races and that race has a starting contamination and a maximum contamination and you csan add points and choose how contaminated you are
<+jeremyTangman> however you want to be care not to go to far in either direction, because the charqacter becomes unplayable
<~Dan> How many mutations do you offer?
<+jeremyTangman> Contamination Level Contamination Level Contamination levels range from 1 to 11 with 1 being most human and 11 being inhuman. For Boron’s purity is a must therefore their contamination level should be kept low.
<+jeremyTangman> Punkers contamination level may be slightly higher but they are still human which means their contamination level should never rise higher than 4. Muties and Cyborgs have obviously been deeply contaminated, while the contamination level of a Faeling varies.
<+jeremyTangman> These sects have starting contamination levels that are slightly higher. No matter how tempting it may be players should be careful not to start too high because as the character encounters contamination the level raises
<+jeremyTangman> Characters may rise above a level acceptable for their sect or position and be removed. To avoid this you must cleanse your body by using special foods and /or personal hygiene products within 24 hours of the contamination or your contamination level will permanently change. Any character whose contamination level rises above 10 for more than 24 hours become
<+jeremyTangman> un playable
<+jeremyTangman> This is known as permanent mutation
<+jeremyTangman> permanent mutation. Contamination level is not just a hindrance however. A Faelings contamination level may influence their size and always determines the number of spells they have. Additionally contamination level determines the number of magic points a Mage has
<+jeremyTangman> . For Muties the contamination level determines their mutation level. Likewise for Cyborgs contamination level determines the strength of their implants and/or devices.
<+jeremyTangman> thats a whole other catagory, implants, cyborgs can buy them and upgrade them, anyone can really
<~Dan> What does contamination have to do with cybernetics?
<+jeremyTangman> the fact that you have a few other abilitiues and thae ability to withstand the upgrades, the increased healing
<~Dan> Does your game have a bestiary, and if so, how large?
<+jeremyTangman> but remember, your story because you build the character, also just because yoiu have cybernetics it does not mean you skipped the contami nation, edverything is contaminated. including th waters
<+jeremyTangman> there is a creature called the omnoptophant, as big as a large elephant but with 8 trunks and 8 legs with eyes all around the upper half and we have a giant worm with aligator hide
